Mayor among approximately 100 guests of President and First Lady Obama

Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced that he has been invited by the President and First Lady to the White House this Sunday to watch Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Mayor Brown and Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker are among the only mayors invited of the approximately 100 guests for the event.

“I’m thrilled to have received this invitation from President Obama and First Lady Obama to join them at the East Wing Theater in the White House for Super Bowl XLV,” said Mayor Brown. “I look forward to joining the other guests for what will surely be a great football game and I look forward to the opportunity to speak to President Obama about our shared interests and a wide variety of issues affecting Buffalo, New York State, and our country. This is a great honor and I am proud to attend on behalf of all the residents of the City of Buffalo.”

Mayor Brown will be joined by First Deputy Mayor Steven M. Casey at the event, which will also include a meeting with the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs.
